Another year has come and gone. It's 2014!! I skipped an entire year of blogging. I missed sharing and creating new opportunities. Amazing to me how quickly the time went by and that I didn't or couldn't find the time to even make one entry in 2013. Baffling! in this day and age of computer technology as well as unacceptable especially from a business point of view. What I realize is that though I had good intentions - intentions are just ideas, thoughts, desires, hopes without action! - without a plan of attack or better yet, without a set goal, an accomplishment without a blueprint to follow to achieve it. The key I found, is like applying makeup, one product at a time. You don't mix foundation, powder, eye-shadow, liner, lipstick all in a pot and rub it all over your face in one full sweep. It's one step, one layer at a time, tweaking when necessary.
Looking back, 2013 was a productive year, personally and well as professionally. I know I repeat myself but I have a good gig!! A few highlights from 2013: Doing makeup on Mr. Graham at his home in Montreat during production in the My Hope America campaign - iconic and awe inspiring; Working on a print campaign for Under Armour making Cam Newton and Randall Cobb look sweaty - it was a tough job but somebody had to do it ;). Hope to get the tear-sheets once the ads come out in February; Samaritans Purse International relief commercial- Living Room Shopping Cart, included kids and a variety of farm animals - along with the actors, the goat, the chicken and the mule were pros: GB Films - Symantec Datacane commercial - so cool - simulated the effects of natural disasters - watching the power of 100 per hour winds from a hurricane was incredible -I had the pleasure of keeping the host/spokesperson either looking dry & handsome or wet and windblown & handsome according to the scene (which weren't shot in order); RR Donnelley/Belk Ecommerce always a consistent gig - keeping me busy, current and enlightened - never a dull moment in a building full of creative artists, fashion and beautiful models. Also rounding out the year was a photo shoot with Jeff Gordon shot by Pat Staub Photography - good people!; Corporate photo shoot for Wells Fargo, commercials, infomercials, a NBC gig early morning makeup for Jenna Bush Hager and many beautiful blushing brides and their bridal parties that kept my calendar full and
created many memorable moments throughout the year.
In 2014, my goal for my weblog, is to post at least once a month, to add more pictures, share my work experiences, tips of the trade, new trends and more product knowledge. As always, continue to Shine your Shine and Be Bold, Be Beautiful - BE YOU!
